The new 18RS115 subwoofer uses a four layer aluminum voice coil, as used in our popular DS Series. The result is more energy in the gap, less heat, higher sensitivity, higher power handling, lower distortion and better overall performance. The new RS Series takes this to the next level, incorporating a far higher flux motor, combined with an extra long 54mm x 4.5 inch diameter (116mm) Copper Clad Aluminum Wire voice coil. The 18RS115 strikes an excellent balance between power handling and sensitivity, ultimately outperforming many power hungry alternatives with significantly larger diameter voice coils. With a 2000watt AES power rating, 97.4 dB sensitivity, and over 23.5mm of Xmax, these high-excursion transducers represent an incremental advancement over comparable B&C woofers in power density, efficiency, and displacement capability.
